Twelfth Night Singers on stairs

For nearly half a century, the Twelfth Night Singers, under the direction of the inspirational Mimi Gass, have been bringing the joy of seasonal Renaissance music to southeastern Michigan. Dressed in beautiful, hand-made Renaissance attire, we sing a wide range of a cappella traditional Christmas music, from carol to wassail song, from J.S. Bach, to Alfred Burt, to P.D.Q. Bach and Anonymous.

What We Perform

Our repertoire includes both secular and sacred music. We sing for country clubs, Christmas parties and weddings. We also have music appropriate for funerals and memorial services. We sing in costume upon request and in numbers from 4 to 24!

Where you'll find us: We've graced southeastern Michigan's finest private settings, including Meadow Brook Hall, the Detroit Athletic Club, the Country Club of Detroit, and the Grosse Pointe Club. You'll also find us in public venues like William Beaumont Hospital, Gilda's Club in Royal Oak, Noel Night at Detroit's New Center area, and numerous senior facilities.

Our Musical Promise

Memorized music – we know our songs by heart

Mostly unaccompanied – pure vocal harmony, with the occasional percussive flair

Clear communication – you'll hear and understand every word, and you'll feel the message each song conveys

Family-friendly fun! We're especially kid-friendly, sprinkling children's Christmas favorites throughout our performances. And if a curious boy or girl comes close, they might just end up wearing one of our Renaissance hats or coronets. It's magical moments like these that make our performances special – so keep that camera handy!
